0039 Italy blouse with striped black jacket by Cynthia Steffe…

It’s not everyday I find a 0039 Italy item in the thrift store but on those days that I do I celebrate.  0039 Italy is luxury Italian fashion in action.  0039 Italythe fashion label designs both elegant and fancy blouses, dresses, pants and fashion accessories as well as extravagant and timeless shirts for the modern, fashion-conscious woman.  Love this striped 0039 Italy blouse and love it even more when I combine it with this black striped Cynthia Steffe jacket.  I always enjoy finding Cynthia Steffe but when looking at their fall 2011 collection I see FUR which made my skin crawl.  So I called NYC and talked to someone at Cynthia Steffe and asked if they used faux fur or real FUR in their fall collection.  The man told me they use both faux and real FUR and I was really hoping to hear this “we only use faux fur at Cynthia Steffe” but I didn’t.  I have no idea why fashion designers use real FUR in 2011, no idea.  With technology making such strong progress with new fabrics I can only think of 1 thing why designers use FUR…. laziness.  Come on designers don’t follow those hobbit Olsen twins formula because we all know they love their FUR, get original.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green.   Daniel your luxury curator!

Ann Demeulemeester top with silk polka dot skirt by Elizabeth Wayman…

You guys know I’m a tag hag for anything French or Italian but what I really LOVE is anything made in Belgium.  Love Belgian fashion designers, to me they are light years ahead of the fashion curb and so original.  This is my very 1st piece from Ann Demeulemeester and I was so excited when I found this piece that I think I might have left me a little present inside my pants!  Ann Demeulemeester was born in Belgium and attended the Royal Academy of Antwerp where she studied fashion design.  She introduced her own line in 1985 after working freelance for several years.  In 1996 she launched a successful menswear line.  Her creations are made in Belgium and Italy and are very expensive.  So finding this pink top from her is the coup of the day, week, month and just maybe year!  I love this polka dot silk skirt by Elizabeth Wayman, don’t know much about her but I love her things and when I see them I always grab them.  I think she’s a talented New York designer.  Love this ensemble and how it works so beautifully together.  Come let me work my magic at Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Sexy Tibi blouse with Isaac Mizrahi suede heels made in Italy….

Every time I find Tibi I always think there is a 6 degree of separation thing between us because she grew up on the Georgia coast and I have lived in Atlanta now for 20 years so somewhere along the way I know there probably less than 6 degrees keeping us apart.  Designer Amy Smilovic founded New York based label Tibe in 1997 after 3 years in Asia, where she worked with local craftsmen to develop the vibrant prints that have become the label’s signature.  One day I know I’ll run into her and we’ll be best friends, I know these things.  I found these Isaac Mizrahi suede heels made in Italy and think they look great with the Tibi top, so now all I need is a pair of great slacks.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Black velvet dress by Walter…

This velvet LBD is tres chic to say the least.  I love finding Walter when I’m out pillaging neighborhood thrift stores, this brand is worn by almost everyone A list celebrity in Hollywood from Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Nicole Richie to Paris Hilton to Reese Witherspoon.  They all love this brand and it’s easy to see why because each piece is simple elegance and just timeless.  Walter Baker is the creative director of Walter and he began his career in finance but his creative spirit quickly redirected his butt into a career of high fashion.  This company was launched in 1991 and has since made it into every major magazine from Vogue, Elle to Marie Claire & Lucky.  They all love this brand.  If you needed to jazz this piece up I’ll think about finding this crystal encrusted flower belt by Lanvin while I’m out thrifting.  Pour yourself into a little black velvet tonight and tell me all about it tomorrow…  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter…toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green.   Daniel your luxury curator!

Trina Turk black silk halter top & black velvet top by Kay Unger…

I get emails all day long from people always asking me if I think I’ll ever run out of things to talk about…  Being an artist you use your imagination to get you through the day and as a kid I used my imagination to transport my ass into a far away land called New York City.  As a young kid I used to read about Halston, Liza Minnelli, Calvin Klein & Bianca Jagger partying all night long at Studio 54 and wished I were there.  Remember I was a child at the time so my imagination was limitless.  The point I’m trying to make is that I can talk about anything because I use my imagination.  Speaking of using your imagination here are 2 pieces by 2 different women designers that use their imagination all day long, Trina Turk & Kay Unger.  Love this black silk halter top by Trina Turk and I’m loving her STYLISH photos (first 3 pic below).  This black velvet top by Kay Unger would go with just about anything from your denim to your Stella McCartney slacks.  Anything…..  Use your imagination and see what you would put with both of these tops….  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter…. toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green…Daniel your luxury curator!  PS Watch my YouTube channel !!!

Tadashi dress that turns heads….

You’ll know why I told you this story so sit back. … Awhile back I had found this retro dress (pic #4) by David Park and so my STYLISH friend Umie just had to have it.  Umie was in Alexandria Louisiana on business wearing the retro David Park dress and was walking to this restaurant when a homeless man said to her as she walked by “nice dress”  Umie turned to him and said “thank you for noticing” smiled her winning smile and walked off.  When I scored this beautiful Tadashi Collection dress I immediately thought of that story.  Why you ask because this Tadashi dress has the same magical powers as the David Park dress.  Good design is noticeable no matter where you’re at in the world or by whom.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green… Daniel your luxury curator!

Vera Wang bridesmaid dress that is chic to wear to a cocktail party..

When I first saw this dress I said “I love this cocktail dress” and then saw the Vera Wang Maids tag inside and smiled.  I swear who would even know that this dress was a bridesmaid dress if they weren’t peeking at the label?  No one would know and that’s the fantastic thing about Vera Wang, she creates dresses that not only are timeless but versatile.  Did you know that Vera Wang was a competitive figure skater so with that competitive trait she is on top of the world looking down.  I would slap my client in this dress, put these Aztec crisscross booties by Nicholas Kirkwood on her and watch her tear up any cocktail party on the planet.  The thing I love about Vera Wang’s designs are the fact that they have a much longer shelf live than your normal wedding dress or bridesmaid dress.  Her designs have legs that can carry any women from 1 event to the next with STYLE.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green….Daniel your luxury curator!

Jean Paul Gaultier dress is a piece of art…

I normally don’t blog about designers collaborations with Target but here is my exception to that rule, it’s Jean Paul Gaultier.  My eyes almost rolled into the back of my head when I first saw the label and then quickly I saw it was for Target.  I contemplated whether or not to even pillage it but I quickly said “Daniel this is a Jean Paul Gaultier design and who gives a rat’s %$# if it’s for Target” !  I have always loved this man and knew women from the early 80′s that walked in his shows in Paris and the stories I can tell.  As a teenager JPG sent design sketches to Pierre Cardin, who then hired him as an assistant.  He later worked at Jean Patou before founding Jean Paul Gaultier in 1978.  He was not immediately successful, but his streetwear – inspired collections hit a chord with 1980′s fashionistas.  You might remember those cone shaped bras he designed for Madonna’s tour awhile back, they were amazing.  From 2004 to 2010, Gaultier was the designer at Hermes which what can you say to that?  So when I saw this pattern that reminded me of a piece of art and saw the label I didn’t care that it was from Target all I cared about was one of my favorite designers created it.  Stop in at Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter…..toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green… Daniel your luxury curator!

Betsey Johnson & Luciano Pavarotti together for 1 night only….

Everyone in the world knows I LOVE me some Betsey Johnson and I recently got a Facebook friend request from Betsey Johnson yes you heard me correct, Betsey Johnson and everything fell out of my pants.  I was with my partner Mitch at the NYC airport and I said I just got a friend request on Facebook from Betsey Johnson and he said “you tag hag” and I said oh yeah !  It wasn’t moments later when I looked again it was Betsey Johnson Lenox as in Lenox Mall here in Atlanta.  Yes they have friended me.  My bubble has burst.  For a second there I actually thought the original Betsey Johnson wanted to be my friend…That’s my Betsey Johnson story for the day but I’m loving this burgundy blouse.  Who knew that Luciano Pavarotti designed a line of clothes but I guess if Miley Circus, I mean Cyrus can put her name to frocks then I guess Luciano Pavarotti can too.  Who am I to judge??? These Pucci’ish slacks have all the marking of an Italian stamp and it goes with the BJ blouse STYLISHLY.  Stop by Doubletake my social media boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook just like Betsey Johnson did and follow me on Twitter… toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Oscar de la Renta ramie top with classic Sandro slacks is way to hot…

His name is synonymous with STYLE and the upper crust from every corner of this globe and this Oscar top made from ramie is an instant classic.  Ramie is a flowering plant in the nettle family and is the oldest fiber crop, used for at least 6,000 years, and is principally used for fabric production so all this makes me tingle from ecstasy.  If this isn’t ‘green’ I don’t know what is and you know I’m a lover of the ‘green’ movement.  So this Oscar de la Renta ramie top is on fire but it quickly turns into a 4 alarm fire when I introduced these Sandro slacks.  Sandro was launched by husband & wife duo Didier and Evelyn Chetrite in 1984, Sandro is the fashionista’s go to feminine Parisian chic.  Both of these lovely items escorted me out from the thrift store with a grin on my face.  Whoever said shopping for STYLE doesn’t mean shopping thrift hasn’t met me yet.  If you want great STYLE stop by Doubletake my social media boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green…  Daniel your luxury curator!

Olivier STRelli wrap blouse with your classic Jasper Conran skirt…

Oh I love finding something new to talk about and I found the perfect wrap blouse by Olivier Strelli so I’m going to wind this up like toy and let it spin.  Here goes….  For 36 years, “Olivier Strelli” has been whisking us off to a world of subtle fabrics and colors.  Now more than ever, the Strelli House is 1 of the leading players on the fashion scene and a symbol of Belgian creativity in high end ready to wear.  You might not know this but I’m a HUGE fan of the Belgian fashion designers, to me they are light years ahead of just about everyone.  In 1976, the founder of the brand, Nissim Isreal, a.k.a. Olivier Streilli, presented his 1st creations at the Salon du pret-a-porter Feminin, the women’s ready to wear exhibition.  Olivier Strelli has become a highly successful must have brand in the world of Belgian ready to wear.  I love this wrap blouse but what I love is pairing it with this linen Jasper Conran skirt.  Jasper Conran was a favorite of Princess Diana and got the nickname of Calvin Klein of London for his tendency to minimalist, yet elegant and classic silhouettes.  You might know the name ‘sweetie’  if you ever watched Absolutely Fabulous because Patsy & Edina LOVED this man!  LOVED him and with good reason.  This ensemble supercedes my wildest dreams and I have lots of those!  Stop by Doubletake my social media boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green… Daniel your luxury curator!

Tocca knock out dress….

This TOCCA dress was an excellent find from the thrift store, it’s so sexy and has such great timeless STYLE.  From the beaches of St. Lucia to a small apartment in the garment district, a group of friends with a vision for beautiful yet affordable clothes with designer details launched TOCCA in 1994.   Named for the Italian word for ‘touch’ after its intricate embroideries and luxurious fabrics, TOCCA combines the best of the romantic & exotic.  With you favorite pair of Stella McCartney flats you could do some serious damage and isn’t that the point of life???  Stop by Doubletake my social media boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….  toodles for now. Wolford white slacks with cream Vanilia made in Italy slacks…

Wolford is located in Austria and in the 90′s it ran a famous ad campaign featuring the work of Helmut Newton and Vanilia is made in Italy and just down right STYLISH.  Wolford specializes in the luxury market as an operative and active company in the manufacturing of qualitative, high class fashion in leg and body wear, primarily stockings, tights, bodysuits, swimwear and underwear.  Last year they had several seasonal co-operations in co-branding with well known designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Philipp Starck, Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld and Emilio Pucci.  So these white Wolford slacks are indeed the bomb.  These cream Vanilia stretch pants are always in vogue because every women that tries this brand on falls in love all over again with her body.  This brand really knows how to design a pair of slacks that hug the body in the most gentle way.  When you buy Vanilia, you know you have an exclusive item in your hands.  So to recap you have a Austrian and an Italian brand so what more would you need out of life except for that black American Express Card.   Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter…..  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green…Daniel your luxury curator!

Vintage Dina Bar-El military jacket with casual Caractere made in Italy skirt…

I love finding Dina Bar-El but finding something vintage from her is the icing on the cake.  Love this military cut jacket with the gold buttons, it’s so over the top chic it’s sexy.  Dina founded her company in 1974, she was a former model that made it her business to truly know her customer and understand the sexy curves of a woman’s body.  I put this jacket with this brand new Caractere skirt because I like the sharp contrast, on 1 hand you have a percise military cut jacket and the other you have classic Italian comfort so I like joining those forces together.  This is a super look for day….  throw on your Burberry quilted leather ankle books and go tear it all up!  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter…..  toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green…Daniel your luxury curator!

Value Village Thrift Store is a rockSTAR…

I’m really horrible about taking pics and I should have because today was the day I shopped for my very first lady from the Atlanta Mission Shelter so I hit Value Village.  I hit it hard… I have to say it’s so different when I’m not hunting for luxury designer clothes but just you good old fashion everyday basics that are essential, I had to literally focus on what her size was and of course her needs.  I walked out with 2 bags of donated clothes from Value Village and this is going to make my client so happy.  We will shoot this segment for 11Alive News in the end of Sept so stay tuned for more……  This is why I think Value Village is a rockSTAR…..
