Maxi Vivienne Tam dress with Guy Laroche flats is a celebration of good taste…

I was blown away when I scored both of these items because I’m a huge fan of Vivienne Tam and of course Guy Laroche and this union is simple chic.  Vivienne Tam was born in China and moved to Hong Kong when she was 3 years old.  Since then, the dynamic combination of cultures in the then British colony has been the essence of her signature East-meets-West STYLE.  This maxi Vivienne Tam dress says “hello there” in the most demure way.  Can you think of a better pair of flats other than these tan Guy Laroche?  I can’t.  Guy Laroche is your classic French label that has stood the test of time.  Guy Laroche began as a milliner, working in Paris, then in New York.  He returned to Paris in 1949 and in 1957 opened his own couture house, with the first show being staged in his own apartment (I love that!).  Laroche died in 1989 and several people have designed for this French brand even Alber Elbaz who is now the head of Lanvin!  Today the designer at Laroche is Marcel Marongiu.  Love this entire ensemble from top to bottom it’s subtle and chic.  Stop by Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique when you are in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Nanette Leport halter top with these gorgeus Vince slacks create fireworks…

Talk about your firework show with this ensemble, I would ask my client that wears this to please hire herself a bodyguard for the night!  I love finding Nanette Lepore and Vince inside thrift stores especially when they are in this great condition.  Ohio born Nanette Lepore launched her namesake line in 1992 after studying at New York’s FIT and a career in design.  Her sumptuous pieces have been worn by stars such as SJP & Hillary Swank so you know you’re in good company.  Please click on the photo that gives you detail of the backside and how it ties in back, it’s just another fine example of her brilliance.  I was lucky enough to have also found these black as night Vince slacks that really pop the Lepore halter top.  With this outfit you just put your best YSL heels on and call up that bodyguard.  Stop by Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique when in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Simple Weekend Max Mara sweater with Ilaria Nistri vest can anyone say “made in Italy”?

This is what I truly love about thrifting and finding beautiful clothes especially when they are this gorgeous and of course made in Italy.  I don’t know why but I think the fashion industry in Italy should hire me as their PR person because as much as I whore them up almost daily you would think they would show me some love.  I found this beautiful pink & white light weight sweater (size Small) by Weekend Max Mara that is a classic.  Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Dolce & Gabbana & Narciso Rodriguez all have designed for this Italian label.  What I’m truly in love with is this dark gray knit vest (size Medium) by Ilaria Nistri now this is hot. Ilaria Nistri and Simone Rafanelli founded this brand.  The main goal is to convey the designer’s passion and love for precious fabrics and unconventional shapes, for the handicraft excellence always keeping the balance between tradition and modernity, together with a constant technological innovation.  They work timelessly, side by side, dividing the work between them: Ilaria took care of design management and Simone looked after general management.  All this ensemble needs is that perfect pair of Piazza Sempione slacks to crank up the STYLE volume to a deafening level.  Stop by Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique when you are in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Marc Jacobs dress to sashay all over town in…

This Marc by Marc Jacobs dress definitely has that retro vintage influence written all over it.  This is a dress one could walk around Paris or Venice in all day long and collect those compliments and starers till you can’t stand it.  From the moment Marc Jacobs’ diffusion line hit the runway in 2001, fashion followers have been lining up to get a piece of the ready to wear action.  He has since stamped his cult brand of retro cool on a must have accessories line, which includes bags, shoes and offbeat timepieces.  Perfect off duty chic with the brand’s color pop quilted clutches and whimsical printed scarves.   If only the GODS would have given me these Barbara Bui strap sandals to match up this Marc Jacobs dress everything would be copacetic…  Stop by Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique when you’re in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Louis Vuitton men’s shirt that fits me to perfection…

Paris is always on fire when Marc Jacobs is working on the Louis Vuitton collection. Talk about finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, when I found this men’s sky blue button up Louis Vuitton shirt hanging in the women’s rack of blouses at the Goodwill, I knew I scored!  My heart did it’s little pitter – patter  and I then when I saw the size and realized I pillaged myself a LV shirt at that moment the heavens opened up and the GODS smiled down at me.  In 1837, 16 year old Louis Vuitton became an apprentice to a Parisian luggage maker.  He established his own trunk-making business in 1854 and opened a retail outlet for selling them in Paris.  By 1886 the business had expanded with a store in London, but it was under Louis’s son Georges that the company gained its international reputation.  Georges Vuitton launched the famous LV logo canvas in 1896 in an attempt to stop the counterfeiting of Vuitton products.  Even back in the late 1890′s people were knocking them off!!!   Marc Jacobs was hired in 1997 as chief designer and in 1998 a LV line of clothing was launched.  That’s the history of LV in a tiny nutshell.  I shall wear this LV men’s shirt with a sense of pride and a splash of chuckles!!  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Sexy Catherine Malandrino silk dress with these Richard Tyler heels and off to the races you go darling…

When I first spotted this dress and saw the label I had to do a Doubletake.  It isn’t just any old day I score this label at a thrift store so when the opportunity rises I grab it without question.  French designer Catherine Malandrino launched her eponymous womenswear label in 1998.  Blending Parisian flair and New York cool, her colorful collections have been on every single STYLE-setter’s radar since Sex and The City was filmed in her SoHo boutique in 2002.  I love this designer and yet at the same time always disappointed to see her designing and using FUR.  I know it’s a very sad day when a designer feels the need to use FUR in their collections, thinking they are being chic and trendy when in reality they are being old fashioned and so yesterday.  FUR has absolutely no place in our modern day society, it did long ago but thanks to fabulous designer like Stella McCartney today, high end designers don’t really need FUR in their collections to make a statement.  All I can say is thank goodness this dress is made with silk!  I found these gorgeous Richard Tyler linen heels that give this look a fresh modern flair.  Did you know that Richard Tyler designed for Byblos from 1996-1998?  You know I love my Byblos…  Love the look and feel of this ensemble that I scored from the Goodwill.  Yes I can pat my own back….  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Orange linen Sergio Pellari top with Stuart Weitzman & Donald J Pliner heels, it’s an all out Italian invasion…

I swear in my last lifetime I must have been Italian because I have always been so in awe of Italy.  This entire posting is about 3 fabulous pieces that all have 1 thing in common: Italy.  All 3 pieces are made in Italy and you know I’m loving my Italians!  I found this orange linen Sergio Pellari top that is a must have for anyones wardrobe.  This top looks great with those skinny jeans you have hanging in your closet… Pellari’s production focuses on hand crafted tailored looks that would awe even a master tailor of couture gowns.  For example, Pellari’s women’s jackets have hand stitching lining, collars and armholes for a more natural, softer shoulder.  All the eyelets are sewn by hand and must be slit open, a detail that is typical of custom made clothes.  The dark rich chocolate Stuart Weitzman heels are your basic classic heels by this legendary shoe maker.  Stuart Weitzman was founded in 1986 and from NYC to Milan, from Paris to Beijing this company has an international presence and a stead growing customer base.  The other heels are by Donald J Pliner and this visionary designer launched his line of luxury men’s and women’s footwear in 1989.    Almost immediately his name became synonymous with innovative design and high STYLE.  Doesn’t this posting just make you want to jet off to Italy and get your Italian groove on?  It does for me…  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Silk Rebecca Taylor blouse and a new pair of Tod’s will get you to heaven and back…

“Clothes should enrich who you are” is just 1 of my many mottos.  Isn’t it true though?  Clothes should always enrich and enhance the very being of who you are.  Each day when you get up and dress it’s like you are painting the canvas that day of what you want to present to the world.  Since I’m an artist I say paint the biggest most abstract painting you can rest your eyes on.  I found this sexy silk Rebecca Taylor top with a touch of the bling bling.  I love Rebecca Taylor…  From a small town in New Zealand to a flagship store in Manhattan, Rebecca Taylor’s has been on quite the journey.  A former assistant to Cynthia Rowley (another favorite), she launched her fresh and fun eponymous brand in 1994 and has since gained an A-list following…. Moment later after finding the Rebecca Taylor top I found these brand new Tod’s and I can testify that these aren’t the first pair of Tod’s I’ve found in a thrift store that were brand new.  Ever-chic presence in the world of luxury, Tod’s stands not only for core Italian artisanship, but mostly for the capacity to distinguish itself as a classic trend setter.  Tod’s represents an understated effortless attire and a lifeSTYLE.  Living well is an art !!  Enrich your wardrobe today and start shopping green….  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!

Silk Hale Bob sexy top with vintage Lancetti made in Italy skirt….

Shopping second hand is shopping smart environmentally speaking.  When you walk into a thrift store, consignment store or estate sale and find a luxury piece the damage to the environment has already occurred.  I mean just think of the water it takes to provide us with a perfect top – slacks or  jacket, it takes a lot of water to manufacture an item, think of the dyes they use…  So getting to my point in a hurry I’m just saying when you shop smart you are doing your part to help our planet.  This is what I scored in the thrift store and I absolutely love this outfit.  The top is by Hale Bob and it is silk with a few beads here and there to bling up the top and the skirt was by a famous Italian company called Lancetti.  I believe they still manufacture their fragrances but not apparel but I also believe they are in a state of complete reorganization of management.   Pino Lancetti was 1 of the most prestigious creators of high fashion in Europe.  This label is concerned to top shelf and I would love to see these Chloe wrap around canvas espadrilles to keep things looking fresh and modern.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique when you are in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!
