I promise my vent session will not last long but I’m truly tired of watching how a few talentless people  hijack the media.  Have you noticed that too?  I won’t name names here because I don’t think that’s very STYLISH to begin with but these people that smack gum like crazy and have jacked up hair with their fake tans are horrid dressers.  No STYLE whatsoever and it just makes me need someone to pass me a bucket.. Growing up in the 70′s people asked me which Catwoman I liked best:  Julie Newmar or Eartha Kitt  and that was a no brainier for me…Eartha Kitt honey….always Eartha Kitt.  Loved Julie Newmar but for me there was only one Catwoman and that was Eartha.  That’s what I had on my brain when I first saw this gray wool jersey jumpsuit by Bergdorf Goodman.  See how strange my mind works?  Eartha Kitt popped into my head when I pulled this jumpsuit from the rack and I just smiled because it took me back to my youth….  This gorgeous jumpsuit by Bergdorf Goodman is in pristine condition and still has many more lives in it, just like a cat….  Jumpsuits to me never go out of STYLE and you rarely see women wearing them today which is a pity.  All you need for this jumpsuit to make it modern is a clutch aka this Emilio Pucci mini bag with detachable plexi bangle wristlet in tiger print and of course these Rick Owens leather ankle boots…. There are 2 things in life I can’t live without: good food + exquisite clothes.   This little black dress (LBD) by Joie with all it’s sequins and beading is absolutely exquisite and there is just no other words to describe this creation.  Serge K. Finding this Eskandar white striped cotton top is like being blessed by the Leprechauns and finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  Eskandar is the namesake clothing company for women best known for its comfortable layering pieces able to be easily removed with the weather.  Designer Eskandar Nabavi uses fabric and classic designs not dictated by trends to create his wearable pieces.  Anytime a designer creates pieces that are not following trends in my book is a true ‘artist’.  This is exactly why I am always excited about finding this brand inside a thrift store.   Finding this Eskandar cotton top was lucky but my luck didn’t stop there because minutes later I scored these Marc by Marc Jacobs black cotton long shorts which are so FAB it is indescribable.  Marc Jacobs is to America what Miuccia Prada is to Italy.  For Fall 2010 look for army and red blanket stripe dresses with khaki bags, army coats with elbow patches, twill pants and green cardigans, cherry red wool jackets with navy shorts, herringbone vest with skirt combo and short white lace dresses and subsequent similar tops with blue wool pants….. Not only is this ensemble juicy with design but it’s just your classic casual all American look.  The red cotton top is by Juicy Couture and there is so much detail in this top it’s really hard focus, I mean will you click on the detail photo and look at the backside of this top and see the elastic waistband stitching…. Ok this is going to be an interesting and informative blog posting so hold on to your lip balm and clutch your YSL bag tightly.  I found these 2 really gorgeous and simplistic dresses inside the same thrift store and was loving the construction of both creations.  The first dress I found was the brown full length velvet gown by Unger-Mindel and I would swear on Eva Peron’s grave that this velvet dress was brand new.  Good thing I didn’t swear on Eva’s grave because I was so wrong.  I wanted to know more about this label so I Googled it and it immediately takes you to Kay Unger’s site and then a few other links are trademarks links that say that Kay Unger owned the name.  I still wanted more information so I called Kay Unger’s office in NYC and talked to 2 young women that said no this wasn’t their label and they both didn’t know anything about this particular label.  So I continued to Google and finally I hit a link that said this: “Kay Unger is launching an evening wear division for spring.  It’s called Unger-Mindel, reflecting her collaboration with Wendy Mindel, who has been an assistant designer at the Kay Unger NYC division of Phoebe Co. Wholesale.”  Then I looked at the date the article was published on the internet and it was October 15, 1996 and the article was from WWD.  So of course these 2 young women wouldn’t have known that and it’s obvious now that this brand isn’t in production.  Getting back to me swearing that this dress was brand new I would honestly say it is.  Who knows maybe this dress sat inside some woman’s closet all these years before she donated it, or it was warehoused someplace that finally liquidated it’s inventory…  We will never know but I am still claiming this is brand new… I can’t find any information as to how long their collaboration lasted but I’m assuming not very… The second is your classic LBD (little black dress) with a ton of STYLE and is by Max & Cleo.  Max & Cleo isn’t a really big brand in fact their is no corporate website for this brand, but I just think this dress is loaded with wooden bullets (TrueBlood lingo)…  This dress would retail at Nordstrom for about $125.00.  Ok so I paid $7.00 for both dresses, yes you heard me correctly $7 for 2 very lovely dresses.  Why pay tons of money inside department stores  when you can sashay yourself into a thrift store and find items like this and look FAB??  All items on my blog are up for sale so email if interested and please check out The Thrifters Boutique .  Follow me daily on Twitter & Facebook and click on and enjoy my YouTube videos.  Toodles for now.  Daniel

To be honest with you I’ve never heard of this brand tyler boe before but since it really had lots of bells and whistles I wisely decided to give this a whirl.  First of all this tyler boe starts off with a white cotton top underneath a layer of netting that has sequins sewn into it, then there is that lace collar and satin ribbon for a belt that ties in back.  I thought the whole production was charming.  Tyler boe is the collaborative vision and design of Sam & Karol Boe from New York.  It is a refreshingly chic collection of sportswear designed for today’s modern, yet refined woman.  With this little chic number within my clutches I eagerly hunted for a bottom and when I saw this DKNY tan skirt that has a metallic sheen to it, well it was just a no brainier.  You really can’t see the metal sheer in the photos unfortunately, but it’s there and it’s gorgeous.  I love me some metal !!  Now the silly and fun fact here is that both items cost me $1.00 each, so the grand total here for this simple chic ensemble is $2.00.  Honey pick up your jaw!  Great finds like this are out there and waiting for you or me to collect them and I proudly do…  All items on blog are up for sale so email me and be sure you check out The Thrifters Boutique.  Follow me daily on Twitter & Facebook and click on and watch my YouTube videos.  Toodles for now.  Daniel

I absolutely LOVE the color of pink and from the looks of it so does Aerosmith.  This video just rocks it out just listen to the words it’s so FAB it hurts…. This 2 piece seersucker skirt suit by Cynthia Steffe does kind of make you want to break into chorus doesn’t it?  What makes this ensemble even more gorgeous is this green top by Susana Monaco.  Susana Monaco’s casual clothes mean elegant and just because you’re wearing casual clothing doesn’t mean you can’t put a little chic STYLE and royal grace into your outfit.  This brand was launched in 1996 and Susana Monaco revolutionized the women’s fashion world with her comfy Supplex fabrics and hip designs.  Today, the revolution continues as the designs continue to grow with the changing styles.  So when you add this Susana Monaco top with this chic 2 piece little sassy Cynthia Steffe number the forecast is clean skies….  Shaun Kearney is creative director for Cynthia Steffe and he has totally revamped this brand and transformed it into the cult like following it now garners.  Chic and simple and of course it’s pink so no wonder Steven Tyler was all up in it’s world….(minds out of the gutters)….
