I must have felt some kind of gravitational pull towards nylon because both the blouse and skirt are made with nylon.  I found this striped cotton with nylon Theory blouse that is low cut and sharp by design.  It’s the kind of Theory blouse you can wear all Summer long and feel totally comfortable each time you wear it.  The yellow nylon long skirt by Magaschoni really screams out Summer doesn’t it?  Magaschoni’s philosophy is to create distinctive looks for the modern, self confident woman who craves functionality in a stylish wardrobe.  Built around luxurious separates and polished suiting choices, the collection is practical yet fashionable and sophisticated to meet her everyday needs that can be clean, sleek and sexy.  This brand is synonymous with luxury and was established in 1989.  By itself the Theory blouse with the yellow Magaschoni nylon skirt look simple and chic but if you choose to put this Ti Amo made in Italy jacket with this collection, I wouldn’t hold it against you. Black and white -  does it ever go out of STYLE?  It’s your classic combination that always has a winning streak.  This gorgeous and elegant BCBG white knit cardigan with black trim is chic with a capital C.  BCBG creates clothing for the modern woman on the go, a woman that believes in simple hair and simple makeup and always street fashion friendly.  With this white knit cardigan you can dress it casual or dress it high with STYLE but either way, you’ll have them looking.  I still can’t get over the fact that I found these black slacks by Vivienne Tam.  Now that’s a good find, in fact it was ‘The Find of the Day.’  Will you just click on the detail photos of the slacks and check out the stitch work and the peekaboo netting cut out.  Vivienne Tam has become well known for creating beautiful clothes that appeal to all ages, ethnicities and income levels.  She has earned the reputation for offering a stylish and high quality product while at the same time inviting the consumer to experience the inspiration behind it.  A longstanding dedication to innovation and exotic imagery, Vivienne Tam is truly one of the world’s most passionate and symbolic designers in fashion today.   All this ensemble needs is the prime fashion accessory, the clutch, and this woman will be on her way to a hell raising party.  Can I get a Hallelujah up in here? I tried my damnedest to find any information on this skort by Man Fung Yuen Wu and just came up empty handed.  I was enamored with the buttons on front and of course the classic houndstooth pattern, I’m a sucker for a classic pattern.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with what a skort is I’ll give you a very brief introduction:  a skort is a pair of women’s shorts with a flap of fabric in front to make it look like a skirt.   The term “skort” ( a portmanteau of skirt and shorts) is used idiomatically in some regions.  There was another reason I pillaged this skort and it was the simple word in the label “Paris”.   I said out loud when I saw the word “Paris”  Ooh La La.  Paris is one of my favorite cities and the first time I went was to spend an entire Summer, when I first arrived I felt like I had been there before.  No other place in the world had I felt that strong of a connection before.  So getting back to the skort I loved the fact that it was indeed a skort, the buttons, pattern and yes the word “Paris”.  I found this 70′s retro abstract blouse by Mardi Modes that I think would look FANTASTIC with this skort.  If I could find these Jean Paul Gaultier wedges at a thrift store, you know that would not only make for the perfect day, but a show stopper ensemble.  Please check out The Thrifters Boutique and follow me on Twitter & Facebook, also please enjoy my YouTube videos on thrifting and share with fellow friends.  Toodles for now.  Daniel

No matter how you slice it:  a Valentino blazer is a Valentino blazer but for me there is extra icing on this cake because this blazer is vintage.  I’m a huge fan of vintage designer goods, since I’ve never been concerned with ‘this Season or last Season’ as long as there is good design you can always throw that notion out the window.  Good classic cut & construction is timeless and always looks great with modern accessories.  When I found this vintage Valentino I didn’t think ‘ Oh it’s so last year’ that will never roll out of my mouth.  A little Valentino blazer made in Italy is always STYLISH in my orange book.  Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have been appointed Valentino creative directors since 2008 and they both demonstrate the ability to fully understand and interpret the world of Valentino.  Their creativity was well received right from the start, obtaining unanimous approval in the world of fashion.  This vintage blazer I found was designed by Valentino himself, making it even more jazzier.  I think this navy blue Halston,  with an abstract floral pattern, blouse is most compatible with the blazer.  For his new gig at Halston Marios Schwab was less engaged by the late designer’s archive than by his ambition: to create something timeless for strong women.  The Halston legacy has defeated the best intentions of a handful of designers over the past few decades, but now there’s a Heritage range to corral the classics (fronted by Sarah Jessica Parker and owned by Harvey Weinstein), so Schwab has a more open playing field.  Both items have deep roots in the classic design department which always makes me appreciate the simple things in life.  Check out The Thrifters Boutique and follow me on Twitter & Facebook, also please enjoy my YouTube thrifting videos.  Toodles for now.  Daniel

A wrap dress is a wrap dress is a wrap dress and it never, in my opinion, goes out of style.  I found, what I believe is brand new,  this Michael Kors animal print wrap dress size large.  We have DVF (Diane von Furstenberg) to thank for giving women the beautiful creation of the wrap dress.  In this case we have Michael Kors to thank for creating this timeless ensemble.  This wrap dress would look fantastic with just about any shoe, well there is that exception – Crocs ( that’s one design creation I’ll never figure out)…. Oh GODS please don’t get me going on those plastic shoes, the day Americans recycle that wasted plastic is a day not soon enough for me…. I have no idea who told people they look fashionable, STYLISH or presentable wearing plastic shoes…  Ok getting back to my posting here I also found this sexy halter dress by BCBG size 4 in mint condition.  Both dresses are loaded with STYLE, personality and a whole lot of flavor and now I ask you what more does one need out of life?  I always tell people to get to their local thrift stores and hunt for some STYLE because if you look hard enough you’ll always find it inside a thrift store.  PS Don’t make eye contact with any plastic shoes! I know each time I score a Piazza Sempione item from the thrift store I’m dusting off my karma card.  I know these things….I just feel it.  How lucky for me or anyone to find such an exquisite item inside a thrift store.  I don’t care how many times I find this brand, I get the same feeling deep inside, eternal gratification.  This size 4 striped Piazza Sempione wool and spandex jacket is a timeless classic.  You could wear this jacket with a simple James Perse tee or  Stella McCartney blouse and you would burn the place up.  Piazza Sempione is a luxury Italian fashion brand that was started in 1990 by Roberto Monti and Marisa Guerrizio, the company delivered high end women fashion wears to the young fashionable ladies.  This brand is the perfect combination of style and quality.  Piazza Sempione has designed for some popular tv shows including Will & Grace, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.  When you see this label inside a thrift store grab it !  I found these rayon, nylon & spandex Laundry by Shelli Segal black slacks size 4 and combined with the jacket, it ROCKS.  Shelli Segal creates modern clothes for the sophisticated woman and these slacks can single handedly stand alone.  I love things that are modern and contemporary, whether its art, architecture, or fashion – good design is always good design, it never goes out of STYLE.  Check out The Thrifters Boutique and follow me on Twitter & Facebook, also please enjoy and share my YouTube videos on thrifting.  Toodles for now.  Daniel

Here are 2 completely different dresses, one is a BCBG form fitting floral print while the other is your classic little black dress by Laundry.  The BCBG by Max  Azria is size 6 and made with spandex so it clings to the body like a drunken sailor during Fleet Week, and you know that isn’t a bad thing.  For Spring 2010 Max Azria sent his models down the runway in a bevy of embellished printed, and ruched frocks.  Shoulders bordered on the sharp side, oozing a modern edge, while vibrant hues of coral, blue, and purple provided sensational sensory overload.  Azria also experimented with hemlines, supplying short minis, funky hemlines and floor sweeping maxis – something for every woman. To tone down the sexy, Azria also made fluid jersey dresses and tempered short hemlines with high necklines.
