Bebe & Mary McFadden can put a smile on a botanist face.
Little did I know that when I went thrifting today I would find 2 dresses that had one theme in common: nature. The first dress I found was Bebe, size medium and made of rayon, it has a rose pattern on a black background. Now how elegant is that? The second dress I found was the Mary McFadden which I’m calling a ‘jungle’ print because of the huge elephant ears and palm leaves print. This dress just screams out “SUMMER” and doesn’t it make you want to go to Costa Rica for a 2 week vacation to see the rain forest? To me this is the brilliance of Mary McFadden’s creations, her designs encourage the mind to wonder. In 1973, Mary McFadden presented to the public, her first designs which were based on African and Asian fabrics. This attracted a great deal of attention. She formed her own company in 1976 and gained a reputation as a designer of individual, original jackets, coats and dresses based on peasant designs of the Middle East and Asia. I think these Marc Jacobs black leather heels have the right organic look, that both dresses could wear these boots and would be elevated to a whole new unworldly realm.
