Versace & Bebe tops.
I was about to walk out of the thrift store empty handed when as of a sudden this vibrant shade of green caught my eyes. As I pushed back the blouses in front I noticed the label first and got all excited. Versace doesn’t that name just send a tiny tingle up your spine? In front of me was this size small Versace Jeans Couture stretchy top. Gianni Versace became world famous as an innovative fashion designer. Gianni Versace was essentially the architect of modern fashion’s place in popular culture. He redefined what a fashion house was by combining fashion with rock n roll, art, celebrity, theatre and ballet. Today Donatella Versace is vice president of the board and creative director of the Versace Group. She inherited the role in 1997 after her brother’s death and has successfully taken the DNA of the company and evolved it for the 21st century. Right behind the Versace was this Bebe top size large which I thought was unusual because they looked about the same size.
I laid the Bebe top underneath the Versace and they are the exact same size, both small. It always makes me wonder who does the sizing? This Bebe is by no means a size large… no, never, nunca. Here again I can’t reinforce this rule enough, you have to try things on instead of relying on the label size, never take the size to seriously. Shaking my head with bewilderment over the sizing I decided to snatch them both up, especially since they were $5 each, can you blame me?
